These features include; changing the LCD to display frequencies instead of channel, roger beep, FM Radio, and the function keys. Another user lamented the need to separately purchase the USB cable while competing brands bundle it out of the box.
Also another owner opined that to achieve the reported ranges, one needed to upgrade the included antenna, which voided the warranty. A user was dissatisfied with the G18’s display of Channels instead of frequency, and he opted to print out the channels to act as a reference whenever he needed to communicate with other stations.

The buttons and knobs feel ergonomic and require just the right amount of force to adjust. The battery saving technology built-in will ensure the device lasts for many years to come. The 2-pin Motorola type socket is compatible with most headsets, microphones, and earpieces. This is especially useful for factory workers, people who work in construction, heavy machine operators, and security.
Overall, the G18 packs a punch with a mix of great features and usability. The only drawback is that you need to purchase the PC Software and cable to program and activate some advanced features.
